In response, Sacred Heart Canossian College issued a statement reiterating its "zero tolerance" stance towards all forms of school bullying, and explained the background of the incident and the latest handling progress.

📹 Elite School Bullying Video Re-uploaded Sparks Discussion

A video recently appeared on the social platform Threads. The poster claimed it was reposted from a girl's Instagram story, and suspected it involved a secondary student from the traditional girls' school Sacred Heart Canossian College in Pok Fu Lam, Hong Kong Island. The poster claimed that the student who filmed the video had been disciplined by the school for bullying in the previous academic year, and later, apparently out of dissatisfaction, re-uploaded the video on her personal Instagram story recently as a counterattack, stressing that she "did not force anyone to eat chalk." The video is about half a minute long. The victim, wearing glasses and a mask and dressed in Sacred Heart Canossian College's winter uniform, had white marks—suspected to be from thrown chalk and chalkboard erasers—covering her white shirt, tie, jacket chest and cuffs. The girl was emotionally agitated and sobbing continuously, requiring a male teacher to comfort her at her side, but laughter and even mocking remarks could be heard in the video. Text in the video described it as: "Even with glasses you can see she's wearing a mask, and wearing it so tightly, how could I stuff chalk into her mouth?"

🏫 School Issues Statement Explaining the Incident

Sacred Heart Canossian College issued a statement regarding the incident, stating that the video circulating online is an old clip from an after-school tutorial class in the 2024/2025 academic year. The school said that upon learning of the incident at the time, it immediately activated its school-based crisis management mechanism for investigation, and the disciplinary teacher had met with the students involved and completed the handling procedures. The school added that no one was injured in the incident at the time, and the school had seriously taught the students involved, explaining the inappropriateness of their behaviour and imposing appropriate punishment. To safeguard student welfare, the school changed the contractor for the course in the 2025/2026 academic year.

📋 School Lists Five Key Points in Statement

In its notice, the school listed five key points and appeals. First, zero tolerance for school bullying: it maintains a strict "zero tolerance" attitude towards verbal, physical or online bullying (including filming or uploading related videos), and will deal with it seriously in accordance with school rules. Second, serious handling and rectification in accordance with regulations: it explained that the incident occurred in last academic year's tutorial class, and the punishment and counselling procedures have been completed, and the course contractor has been changed. Third, in-depth investigation of inappropriate remarks: regarding allegations that the student involved posted videos and inappropriate remarks on social media after being disciplined, the school said it attaches great importance and is conducting an in-depth investigation into the online dissemination incident, and will strictly punish once verified. Fourth, providing professional support and counselling: counselling teachers and school social workers have been arranged to provide emotional counselling and psychological support to affected students, and to maintain close communication with the relevant parents. Fifth, calling on the public to stop reposting the video: given that those involved are all underage students, the school earnestly requests the public to give them space, and not to repost or comment on the video, or publish personal information involving minors, to avoid causing secondary harm.

The spokesperson reiterated that it has always adopted a "zero tolerance" policy towards school bullying, absolutely does not accept bullying in any form or for any reason, and provides schools with clear guidelines detailing the principles, procedures, methods and follow-up work for handling bullying incidents.
