PolyU said the BSc (Hons) Scheme in Biotechnology and Chemical Technology will be split into two independent programmes next academic year to meet societal needs; the university will also continue to provide an additional HK$30,000 overseas exchange subsidy to undergraduates awarded academic admission scholarships.
📋 250 Activities Covering Admission Talks and Programme Consultation
The 250 activities included a series of admission talks organised by the Admissions and Scholarships Office, introducing procedures and requirements for applying via JUPAS, non-JUPAS with non-local qualifications, senior year admission (associate degree or higher diploma qualifications), and Mainland Gaokao results. Various faculties and departments also held programme seminars and consultation activities, alumni and student sharing, workshops, exhibitions, and guided tours of teaching facilities and laboratories, allowing participants to experience the university campus environment first-hand.
🔬 Biotechnology and Chemical Technology Programmes to Split Next Academic Year
PolyU said that to meet societal and industry development needs, the Faculty of Science will restructure the existing BSc (Hons) Scheme in Biotechnology and Chemical Technology in the 2027/28 academic year, splitting it into two independent programmes: BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology with Biotechnology and BSc (Hons) in Chemical Technology, allowing students to make more focused study choices. In addition, PolyU will continue to provide an additional HK$30,000 overseas exchange subsidy to all undergraduates awarded academic admission scholarships; PolyU has set a clear target to ensure all undergraduates graduating in the next academic year or later participate in at least one non-local learning experience before graduation.
