United Christian College (Kowloon East) offers both DSE and International Advanced Level (IAL) dual-track programmes. About 80% of students are admitted through JUPAS, with 100% entering degree programmes, and about 35% of places coming from HKU, CUHK and HKUST. In addition to science combinations, the school has recently added humanities and business subjects to the IAL, covering economics, business, geography and mathematics, offering students who are not strong in science an additional pathway for overseas studies. 🎻 Compulsory Third Language and Strings; Bible Classes Grouped by Faith Background
To cultivate students' international perspective and artistic accomplishment, the school has specially added several distinctive compulsory courses in junior secondary: a compulsory third language—junior secondary students must freely choose Japanese, French or German as their third language for a three-year course; a compulsory strings course—junior secondary music covers vocal and string music, with each class forming its own string orchestra, and students may choose to learn violin, viola, cello or double bass; Bible classes tailored to students—Bible is a compulsory subject for all levels, and junior secondary students are divided into "Red Group" (firm believers) and "Green Group" (non-believers or new believers) according to their faith status; senior secondary is divided into Christian Studies Group or Christian Ethics Group .

During boarding, students must hand in their mobile phones until Friday after school, make their own beds, keep to the schedule, eat together and do evening self-study. Through activities such as rock climbing, drama rehearsals and barbecue shopping, they train self-care ability, time management and team communication. If vacancies exist, Form 2 to Form 6 students may also apply to live in the dormitory . Boarding fee: $5,800 per term (9 terms per year for full-year boarding; 3 terms for Form 1 boarding, i.e. $17,400) .

💡 Form 1 Interview Tips
United Christian College (Kowloon East) receives nearly 2,800 applicants each year competing for 160 places. Principal Cheng Kin-tak frankly said that since the school uses English as the medium of instruction, it places great emphasis on students' English proficiency. Candidates must possess excellent English ability. The school also appreciates students who are proactive, lively and willing to try, and these candidates will have an advantage in interviews . Principal Cheng also stressed that United Christian College (Kowloon East) is a school with a strong Christian atmosphere, but the school will not give "bonus points" because parents and candidates are Christians, and students do not need to be Christians . Candidates do not need outstanding achievements in sports or music—"students will not be admitted because they possess special talents" .
