The Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, together with Tencent WeTech Academy, held the "AI for All" launch ceremony, officially announcing the launch of the 2026/27 season of the "WeChat Mini Programme Global Innovation Challenge (Hong Kong Regional Competition)." Hong Kong Education City (EdCity) and Tencent Cloud also jointly launched the "Teacher AI Literacy and Application Training Joint Programme," promoting the popularisation of artificial intelligence education from both the student and teacher ends. The event echoes the "Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan" and the new Policy Address announced by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu the same day, which propose continuing to comprehensively advance the "AI+" initiative and building a highland for international high-end talent.

📋 Policy Address Promotes "AI for Everyone" Inclusive Scheme; Over 200 Training Programmes to Be Launched by Q1 2028
The HKSAR Government announced in the new Policy Address that under the "AI for Everyone" inclusive scheme, more than 200 training courses and activities will be launched by the first quarter of 2028, promoting AI awareness and responsible application at different levels, and helping ordinary citizens, university students, young researchers and professionals empower themselves with AI expertise. The "AI for All" launched today starts from campuses, working from both the student and teacher ends, moving in the same direction as the "AI for Everyone" inclusive scheme.

🎓 Student Competitions Guide AI to Serve Society; Teacher Training Enhances AI Literacy
The "AI for All" launched today starts from campuses, working from both the student and teacher ends: competitions guide students to use AI to serve society, while training courses help teachers enhance their AI literacy, allowing young people to master technology while practising "tech for good." The event also aligns with the Education Bureau's "Digital Education Development Blueprint for Primary and Secondary Schools" in promoting AI beyond the classroom, marking an important step in taking the Blueprint from policy to campus practice. The Policy Address further clearly states that the Education Bureau will actively promote digital education and STEAM education in accordance with the Blueprint, including launching a free digital education learning resource platform incorporating AI large language models, and gradually extending the "AI Teaching Assistant" to more subjects.
