The briefing session requires online registration by ballot; see below for ticket ballot dates, admission application details, a record of past three-round interviews and public examination results.

📅 Three Physical Admission Talks on 5 December; Online Registration for Computer Ballot from 2 November
HKUGA College will hold its 2027/2028 Form 1 Admission Briefing Session on 5 December (Saturday) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its Wong Chuk Hang campus. The event will feature a student learning outcomes exhibition, guided campus tours and 3 admission talks, with sessions at 8:45–9:30 a.m., 10:00–10:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.–12:00 noon. Due to enthusiastic responses in the past, talk admission tickets will be allocated by computer ballot, and successful families will receive email confirmation on 23 November. To allow more families to participate, each registered child may be accompanied by only one parent. The Form 1 online application period is from 10:00 a.m. on 13 November to 11:59 p.m. on 14 December 2026.

📊 Six Form 1 Classes, About 80 External Places; Admission Scoring Criteria Released
The school stated that it will open 6 Form 1 classes for the 2027/2028 academic year, providing a total of 198 places. After deducting students progressing directly from the affiliated primary school through the through-train arrangement, about 80 external students are expected to be admitted. All applicants may attend the first-round interview on 30 January 2027. The school does not participate in the Central Allocation of the Education Bureau's Secondary School Places Allocation System; once parents sign a consent form accepting an offer, it will be treated as giving up a government-subsidised place. The admission selection weightings are as follows:

  1. academic results 40%,

  2. interview performance 40%,

  3. other learning experiences and personal achievements 15%,

  4. and other factors (such as siblings studying at the school or primary section) 5%.

🗣️ Three-Round Interview Mechanism Explained: Tower-Building Tests Teamwork
HKUGA College places great emphasis on students' language ability, logical thinking and interpersonal attitude. Interviews are conducted in stages.

First Round: Individual and Group Q&A in Three Languages
Ten candidates enter the examination room as a group, with no self-introduction. Examiners ask questions directly and require students to answer immediately, followed by a group discussion in which students first state their views individually and then integrate a group consensus. The main assessment covers Cantonese, Putonghua and English expression, daily life general knowledge and on-the-spot responses. Past question references include: "Which animal would you use to describe your parents?", "If you could have one superpower, which would you choose and why?", "If a new transfer student joined your class, how would you help them integrate into the new campus environment as soon as possible?" (group discussion), and "If you witnessed your good friend bullying other schoolmates, what would you do right now?" (group discussion).

Second Round: Practical Collaborative Task Tests Problem-Solving and Emotional Intelligence
Candidates are divided into teams and given 25 minutes to use specific materials (such as paper cups, ice-cream sticks, adhesive tape and scissors) to build a tower together. The task requires that each paper cup must not directly touch another, testing how students, under strict constraints, can peacefully discuss and devise an innovative structure. Assessors observe students' division of labour, tolerance for frustration, listening skills and leadership.

Final Round: In-Depth Parent-Child Interview
Parents and shortlisted students meet the Principal and management together, mainly to understand the family's parenting philosophy, the child's daily reading habits, and the degree of alignment with the school's core educational direction.

🌟 First A-Level Cohort Produces 6 Top Scorers and HKU Medical Students; DSE Pass Rate Exceeds 91%
HKUGA College operates a dual-track system. Since the 2024/25 academic year, it has offered the UK GCE A-Level (IAL/A-Level) curriculum, allowing students to freely choose between the local DSE or international IAL when entering Form 5 according to their aspirations. Students taking the international curriculum still fully participate in house competitions, leadership training and other campus activities, and receive school support to apply to universities through Non-JUPAS or UCAS. In August 2026, the first A-Level cohort achieved stunning results, with an overall A or A* rate as high as 98.25% (A accounting for 61.40%), producing a total of 3 super top scorers with 5A and 3 top scorers with 4A. All graduates met the requirements for conditional university offers, including successful admission to HKU Medicine (MBBS) and Speech and Language Pathology, among other highly competitive programmes. In the 2026 DSE, the overall pass rate exceeded 91%, with as many as 91.3% of candidates achieving "332A" or better in core subjects. Multiple top-performing candidates racked up 5** results, and some students received unconditional offers from Peking University and direct admission without examination from CUHK. The JUPAS bachelor's degree admission rate was nearly 82%, with over 42% admitted to the top three universities.

📚 12 Years of Inquiry-Based Learning; Dedicated Reading Lessons and All-Round Field Studies
