🗣️ Past Interview Questions: Mental Arithmetic / Current Affairs / Idiom Sentence-Making on the Spot
The interview is mainly individual, with no written test, comprehensively assessing students' biliterate and trilingual (Cantonese, Putonghua, English) abilities and mathematical-logical foundation. The school stresses that the interview does not test rote-learned knowledge, but focuses on children's learning attitude, curiosity for exploration and problem-solving thinking. Based on past candidates' sharing, key interview areas include:
a) Chinese and Putonghua: Candidates must read a Chinese passage aloud and answer questions. Improvisation questions have included "If you had a time machine, which dynasty would you most want to return to and which historical figure would you most want to meet?", or making sentences on the spot with the Chinese proverb "經一事、長一智" (learn from experience) and idioms "全神貫注" (fully focused) and "心不在焉" (absent-minded);
b) English: Reading an English passage aloud and filling in missing words on the spot; the teacher will ask for opinions on the content and explain vocabulary. Past passages have included shark-related articles, with follow-up questions such as "Would you touch a shark?";
c) Mathematics and General Knowledge: Including mental arithmetic and logical reasoning, as well as general knowledge and current affairs questions, such as "What category of life does a sea turtle belong to?"
