📚 Social Sciences Elite Programme Plans to Admit 10–12 Students with One-on-One Leadership Mentorship
This year's HKU Information Day adopted the theme "Navigating the Future: AI Co-creating a Sustainable World." Various faculties held multiple admission talks, facility tours and experiential activities, giving the public an opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of how HKU equips students with artificial intelligence (AI) literacy, cross-disciplinary skills and practical experience. President Zhang Xiang also visited various booths to exchange with teachers and students, stressing that university is about giving students the courage and ability to explore unknown frontiers. HKU earlier announced that this year's JUPAS would add the "Bachelor of Arts Elite Programme" and "Bachelor of Engineering (Robotic Engineering)" undergraduate programmes. Today, at the JUPAS admission talk, it further announced the new "Bachelor of Social Sciences (Elite Programme)" (JS6743) offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences. The programme has two major specialisation areas, "Academic Research" and "Social Impact," and offers dedicated scholarships and abundant international exchange opportunities. Students may receive one-on-one mentorship from senior leaders in academia, politics or business, and after completing the four-year bachelor's degree, may proceed directly to 31 related master's programmes. Including both JUPAS and non-JUPAS students, the initial plan is to admit 10 to 12 students.

💬 Yim Chi-kin: Competition Is Intense; Urges Choosing Programmes Based on Interest
Speaking at the morning JUPAS admission talk, Yim Chi-kin said that the world is currently changing rapidly and full of uncertainties. Even with technological development, many people worry that technology will replace human jobs. He stressed that all HKU programmes will help students grasp technological development in this era and ensure a good future. After the event, he described HKU's admissions in recent years as ideal, with more and more students interested in studying at HKU and possessing quite comprehensive talents. He stressed that competition to enter HKU is quite intense, and urged students to choose programmes carefully and pay attention to the estimated admission scores published by HKU, while still choosing based on their own interests rather than solely on scores.
